Domain names are converted to IP addresses and vice versa via the Domain Name System, called DNS for short. For example, a domain name blog.yourdomein.nl is hosted on a server. This server has its own IP address. The DNS ensures that a visitor who requests the domain blog.yourdomein.nl is linked to the correct server with the correct IP address and thus sees your website.
All kinds of other matters are also arranged via the DNS, such as linking your e-mail program via the MX records to the correct mail server, but also access to the server for file transfer via FTP.
DNSSEC: the digital signature for your domain name
As an internet specialist, we can take care of the DNSSEC for your domain. This is a digital signature that provides authentication when a visitor goes to your website. If your website has been cloned, the visitor will not immediately see this. That is why this digital signature is indispensable, especially if your website processes sensitive data.
It regularly happens that certain applications (such as the use of an Exchange server) require an adjustment in the DNS. Adjusting the DNS is specialist work and we can do this for you. We can configure many different applications for you correctly via our own DNS structure and our own Name Servers. Do you have questions about adjusting your DNS records? Please feel free to contact with us.
